Seafood
Most seafood sold in Singapore is frozen at sea or soon after landing, so a frozen prawn is often closer to the catch than a chilled one sitting on ice at the wet market. This hub covers prawns by count size, squid, fish fillets, scallops, and clams. When you compare two bags, the count number, 31/40 for prawns, for example, tells you the size, and the glazing percentage tells you how much of that weight is ice, not meat. Look for a frozen delivery notice on the pack: some sellers ship on regular ice and the seafood arrives partly thawed.
